Gulf
Everyone knows the iconic, century old Gulf logo and associates it with reliable gas when you’re on the road. Few realize that Gulf Oil, LP is headquartered in Newton Massachusetts and is one of the Northeast's largest wholesalers of refined petroleum products, distributing motor fuels through a network of more than 2,400 Gulf branded gasoline retail centers, 12 proprietary oil terminals, and a network of more than 50 other supply terminals. Gulf Oil also supplies heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel and kerosene to these branded retail outlets through both its Gulf brand and, in the seven states of New England and New York, the Exxon brand.
Gulf turned to Warner Communications to upgrade its brand image to be positioned as a premium gasoline retailer to both consumers and distribution partners. Warner’s charter is to help recruit new gas station franchisees, advocate alternative fuel solutions and build a positive image with business and trade press. Our work includes research, development of corporate profiles, product introductions, events and corporate announcements, in additional to industry commentary.
Warner Communications positioned CEO Joe Petrowski as an industry leader through interviews with a wide variety of influential business media from CNBC to USA Today to the Wall Street Journal. In addition, Warner ensures that Joe is consulted regularly for his insight and opinion on gas and energy issues in major Northeast outlets, including the Boston Globe, the New York Post, Newsday, and the Hartford Courant as well as key trades like National Petroleum News and Convenience Store News.
Recent findings from independent consumer focus groups reported that the assignment is succeeding! Gulf is very well perceived by the motoring public, describing it as “a friendly, solid, reliable brand.” Additionally, the focus group concluded that Gulf is viewed as having high-quality gasoline and service.
