MAYOR JOHN C. CURRAN AND PLANNING BOARD DIRECTOR ANNOUNCE AGENDA FOR NATURAL RESOURCES FORUM
Mayor John C. Curran and Planning Board Director Ed Tarallo are inviting all interested citizens to attend the Woburn Natural Resources Forum scheduled for Wednesday, May 21st, at 7:00pm. The public forum will be held at the Shamrock School and will last until 9:00pm. Stated Mayor Curran: "I encourage all residents to come out for this forum. It will offer a chance to be heard on current and future land uses as well as our overall community development strategy relative to natural resources and open space. After a presentation and review of options, residents will have an opportunity to offer suggestions for refining and prioritizing environmental themes and goals."
Planning Board Director Ed Tarallo elaborated: "Land protection options, priority parcels, open space plans, and build-out analyses are all items on the agenda. Staff from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council will be on hand to answer questions regarding current land uses and natural resource maps. It is sure to be an educational night, and residents will be able to express their views on prioritizing parcels for both protection and development as part of the Citys overall community development plan."
Tarallo stated that participants should expect discussion regarding the natural resources themes identified in past visioning sessions; goals for specific areas for protection, acquisition, and/or zoning; and preliminary identification of areas for housing and economic development.
